Abstract

This paper presents the application of CAD/CAE technology in evaluating the quality of 3D printed metal products using Material Extrusion (ME) technology. Experiments were conducted on 17-4 PH stainless steel samples and scanned using non-contact measurement technology. Results showed that printing orientation significantly affected dimensional accuracy and surface quality, with the highest accuracy of 98.1% observed in flat orientation. The paper proposes optimized design recommendations to minimize deviations and improve 3D printing quality.
